Pookie's Dog Wash to benefit the Central Florida Animal PantryAnother great event at Pookie’s! Fun, food, and laughs were had by all. I’m not sure how much they rasied for the Animal Pantry but I can tell you that during the day, someone came into the Ocoee store and dropped off a $2000 donation. WOW! What a generous donation for the Animal Pantry. Lots of happy and now very clean dogs enjoyed the day too. I would like to thank Pookie’s for hosting the event and a big THANK YOU to everyone who brought their 4-legged family members out for a good cause. |

Boy's idea: 'Feed the dogs' to keep them out of sheltersZach Wilson, 9, and his mom created the Central Florida Animal PantryDaphne Sashin |Sentinel Staff Writer Zach Wilson (9) sits in his Longwood family's home on Wednesday May 6, 2009, with his dog, Brandi, surrounded by some of the pet food that he has collected. He decided to try to help feed animals when he went with his family to adopt a new dog and saw how many pets were up for adoption. So far he has collected over 1,000 pounds of food.
